The court sentences Pich Sreymom to two years accused of allegedly issuing dud cheques

The Phnom Penh Municipal Court on December 23, 2022 sentenced a real estate businesswoman to two years in prison accused of allegedly issuing dud cheques to settle more than $3 million in debts to five of her clients.

 Judge Rath Sitha named the accused as Pichr Sreymom, 35, an entrepreneur and the owner of real estate company living in Chbar Ampov district’s Nirot commune.

He said, Sreymom was charged with five counts of “issuing dud cheques” under Article 231 of the Law on Negotiable Instrument and Payment Transactions.

 He added that Sreymom was arrested on November 17 in accordance with a warrant issued by the Phnom Penh Municipal Court.
