26 chainsaws seized during patrol in Preah Rokar Wildlife Sanctuary

The Preah Vihear Provincial Department of Environment in cooperation with the Prey Top forest protection community confiscated 26 chainsaws left by illegal loggers in Preah Rokar Wildlife Sanctuary yesterday.

Preah Vihear Provincial Department of Environment officer Duong Sophea said today that the chainsaws were left behind by the illegal loggers who fled a joint patrol by park rangers and forest protection community members in Pring Thom commune, Choam Ksan district.

He added that seized 26 chainsaws have been handed over to Preah Rokar Wildlife Sanctuary officials to keep as evidence of the crime.
