Dr. Hun Manet Calls on Mr. Sam Rainsy to End Political Life

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on December 28, 2021 wrote the Facebook post that General Hun Manet’s political message attacked the exiled opposition party leader Mr Sam Rainsy as “a Child punishes the old Man”. 

Premier’s message came after General Hun Manet, the eldest son and future candidate in the Cambodian People’s Party, wrote a serious attack on his longtime rival Mr. Sam Rainsy. 

And General Hun Manet’s messages came after Mr. Sam Rainsy recently criticized serious criticism of Manet’s study abroad and alleged that Mr. Manet received a degree from the United States Military Academy (United States Military Academy or West Point) is the only second degree, which is given to honor for foreign military students who study below the standard. 

In response to Mr. Sam Rainsy’s allegations above, Dr.  Hun Manet asked Mr. Sam Rainsy to bet and make the following reply: 

“What I did not expect was that this old politician [ Sam Rainsy] not only lacked the courage to defend his arguments, but he continued to attack me over the “Type 2” or “Understanding” degree and also insulted many other Cambodian students studying abroad that foreign universities give fake degrees or diplomas to those students”. 

“Probably all Cambodian students who have studied or are studying abroad clearly understand how hard you have to work to get a degree from a school abroad”.  

“Once again, to protect my honor and dignity as a graduate student abroad (and to represent all Cambodian students studying abroad who have been despised by Sam Rainsy) I Ask Mr. Sam Rainsy to bet again and hope that Mr. Sam Rainsy will not use the strategy of the white-eared chicken again (the white-eared chicken is beating him from behind until he comes back and fights back and escapes. When they walk away, it starts chasing people from behind again).” 

Betting Terms ÷ 

I studied for a bachelor’s degree in military science from West Point, a master’s degree in economics from New York University, and a doctorate in economics from Bristol University in the United Kingdom. 

If Mr. Sam Rainsy can allow these three schools to prove that Hun Manet was not competent or studied below the school standard and the school has awarded Hun Manet a degree of type 2 or degree of understanding, I will resign as the CPP’s prime ministerial candidate. 

On the other hand, if Mr. Sam Rainsy cannot officially confirm that the degree that those schools give to Hun Manet is a type 2 degree or a degree of understanding, Mr. Sam Rainsy should resign from politics from now on. 

In the case of Mr. Sam Rainsy agreeing to be transparent in this confirmation, we can set up a joint working group consisting of Mr. Sam Rainsy and I to contact for clarification from the three schools where I used to study. 

In addition, we can also provide the team of RFA, VOA, RFI, ..., etc. going to the news directly, do not worry that the Royal Government of Cambodia put pressure on the three schools not to confirm the truth. 

Do Mr. Sam Rainsy dare to bet with me? I hope that Mr. Sam Rainsy will not send the same message as before, asking not to swear or bet like a child. 

Because this child no longer believes in old politicians who talk on the palms of their hands or use white-eared strategies. 

 I hope that an old politician like Sam Rainsy would have the courage to defend his argument that has been made public again and again to attack the younger generation like me. 

Sam Rainsy has been attacking my father for decades, but he has not been able to move forward. 

Now turn to attack me, the younger generation. If you do too much, please show courage, do not let children underestimate the elderly, but do not have the courage to take responsibility for what you say or do. 

Either way, you are older than my father and should not be tarnished in front of the younger generation.

 As a moral and virtuous life, I always respect the elders. But if an old man is too old and works irresponsibly, especially to attack me baselessly, then I have no choice but to defend my honor and dignity. Please do not accuse me of not knowing the elders. 

In response to Mr. Hun Manet’s betting, Mr. Sam Rainsy not only did not dare to bet, but turned the subject around and said, “There is no need to swear or bet like a child”.
