Cambodian police arrested nine Chinese drug traffickers and seized nearly 350 kilograms of drugs

Police in Anti-Drug Department in Ministry of Interior on December 24, 2021 arrested nine suspected Chinese drug traffickers and seized nearly 350 kilograms from them in Phnom Penh.  

The anti-drug police officer said that theses suspected Chinese nationals is the cross-borders criminals group. 

Police said that that they were arrested on December 24, 2021 night  after police raided a Chinese-owned-restaurant located in Prampei Makara district’s Veal Vong commune, and a twin villa in Chba Ampov district’s Nirot commune.

Police added that after their cracking down and arrest, police seized a total of 347, 427. 99 grams [ nearly 350 kilograms] of ices, two scales, a car, a motorbike, ten mobile phones,  $ 300, 367 pieces of steel pipes and other related materials from them.

 

According to Anti-Drug Department’s report, the nine Chinese suspects identified as Huang Rui Ming, 58; Li Yin Man, 38;  Sun Liang, 42; Sun Hai Tao, 41; Liu Wei Cheng, 52; Cheng Zhi Quan, 66; Wang Lei, 31; Wang Yue, 38;  and Zhu Xiao Fei, 39.

 They all are allegedly accused with “drug possession, transport and  trafficking” under article 40 of Cambodia’s Law on Drug Control.

 They are facing a life sentence in prison each if convicted.  They all now are still being questioned at the court.
