Sale Rado Watch Company Donated US$ 5,000 to CRC

The Sale Rado Watch Company which is Switzerland-based famous company has donated a total of US$ 5,000 to the Cambodia Red Cross (CRC) to buy ten tones of rice for helping the poor in Cambodia.

The handing over ceremony of the US$ 5,000 cash donation was made between Her Excellency Pum Chantinie, Secretary General of the Cambodia Red Cross and the Highest Representative of the CRC’s President Dr. Bun Rany Hun Sen and Mr.
Olivier Cosandier, First Vice-President of the Sale Watch Company with the participation and witness of Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Personal Advisor to Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen, and Secretary of State of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and President of the University of Cambodia (UC) and Mr. Rikhi Thakral, Executive Director of the Thakral Group on April 30th at the CRC Headquarter in Phnom Penh.

Mrs. Pum Chantinie, Secretary General of the CRC, said that CRC was very pleased to receive a US$ 5,000-humanitarina donation provided by the Sale Rado Watch Company in buying ten tones of rice for distributing to the vulnerable people in Cambodia. She added that the donation of Sale Rado Watch Company was very important and necessary for CRC because it will help them in saving the lives of vulnerable people in Cambodia.

“On behalf of the Cambodia Red Cross’s President Dr. Bun Rany Hun Sen, I am very pleased and appreciate your company’s generous assistance donated to the Cambodia Red Cross in this time. I think that this donation is very important and necessary for CRC because it will be helping us to rescue the vulnerable people in Cambodia,” she said before receiving the donation of US$ 5,000 cash from Mr. Olivier Cosandier at the CRC Headquarter in Phnom Penh.

Chantinie emphasized that due to the climate change, droughts, flooding and other natural disasters many Cambodians have got difficulties in their living-condition. They left their villages or communities to find works in Phnom Penh and other cities and provinces in Cambodia. She said that to raise donation for helping them, the Cambodia Red Cross will celebrate a huge CRC Day Celebration on 8th May under the highest presidency of the Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen in Phnom Penh.

Olivier Cosandier, First Vice-President of the Sale Rado Watch Company, said that this was his first time to visit the Kingdom of Cambodia.

He stated that he was interested and admired the CRC’s President Dr. Bun Rany Hun Sen for her excellent activities and hard works in helping her own poor people in Cambodia. He added that to save the lives of the vulnerable people in Cambodia, his company will contribute more money for Cambodia Red Cross in the future. ///

Sorn Elit, the Tallest Cambodian Taekwando Champion

He was speaking to The Southeast Asia Weekly on July 22. The Secretary General said that Sorn Elit, 22, is currently the best Taekwondo fighter in Cambodia. He has attended many competitions both at home and abroad and has achieved success in both fields. In 2008, he won the national heavyweight title in the Taekwondo championships. “I am very proud of Sorn Elit as he is the best fighter in Cambodia,” Samnang said. “I believe that he will continue to bring honor to the country, the sport and himself as he competes in still more competitions at home and in the international fighting arena. Chan Tra: Life of a Cambodian Traditional Tattoo Artist
